Going into this game we changed the team around abit to give some much needed match fitness.
We didn't start very well and Stansfield put us under pressure (we did accept that with them being the permier team and at home) and within 5 mins we were 1-0 down a headed cleance fell to one of their midfielder's and he duely put the ball in the back of the net off the post.
This sparked us into life and we started to pressure on their back four who wanted too much time on the ball, on about the 15th min mark we had a free kick just inside the Stansfield half, Lee Hollands wipped in a top ball for Adam Davies to head home into the top corner from just inside the box a very good header leaving the keeper with no chance.
We Sensed we could get ontop of the Stansfield defence and another free kick was flicked on and Dean Spenceley was very unluckly not to score with a quick turn and shot that went just past the post.
On the 27th min a good move down the left ended with Adam Davies at the by-line he beat a defender drove at goal and put a ball across goal for Karl Smith to smash the ball in form 6 yards out to make it 2-1.
At this point Stansfield became very pyshcial and had a ten min spell where they saw the ball a fair bit and on the 40 th min they levelled with a poor goal from our point of view a simple long ball from defence over our back four and the forward finished 2-2.
But just four mins later Andrew Jarvis playing center back was fouled and as the Stansfield players moaned (has they did every time the whistle went) Jarvis with some quick thinking put the ball down and Karl Smith on the same wave lenth played a cross field ball into Karl's run where he had made space at an angle towards goal the keeper came out and Karl lobbed him 3-2 half time.
The second half the weather changed dramatically against us with the wind picking up and pinning us back.
To be fair we played some good football counter attacking in the second half and Stansfield had no real chances, Steve Ashmore controlled our back four Second half and we created some good chances without being able to score a fourth.
Darren Yeung was brought on for Aaron Shade who had run his socks off and staright away Darren was getting the better of the tired Left back and on the 81st min a kick from keeper Sean ingleson towards Karl Smith, Karl and the center back had a coming togther allowing the ball to bounce, Dean Spenceley won a header towards Darren yeung who had come off the flank, his touch made the goal flicking it in front of himself so he could use his pace to get one on one with the keeper and cooly finshed past the on rushing keeper.
We looked like we had wrapped the game up untill the 89th min, a free kick was played into our box and a header at the back post made it 4-3.
We held out for a top win against a good side which was well desevered and just think 16 months ago we were winning the Sevenoaks Premier Divsion title Stansfield were winning the kent County pemier league so a very good win for the club.
