Hildenborough went into the third pre-season game and having the same problems with no less then 10 first team players away through injury or working.
The very young squad contolled the first 15 mins playing good football and even scored what looked like a perfectly good goal but this was very dodgly ruled offside. Then moments later the ref pointed to the spot for Eltham, this was not a peno bit of a dive and outside the box, Ingleson was unlucky has he got a hand to it.
Hildenborough then dropped thier heads and stopped doing eveything right they had done in the first 15, the game became scrappy and with 10 mins left of the first half Eltham got their second peno but this was a stone wall peno again Ingleson was unlucky again with getting another touch on the ball.
After words at half time Hildenborough came out a different side they controlled the half Eltham actually went 3-0 some lovely football from them but with the final pass the forward looked to be offside but it was finished well.
Hildenborough's first came with good build and after the second attempt Yeung scored.
Hildenborough were pushing and the second goal came when a good through ball found Spenceley he found the bottom corner to make the scoreline 3-2
In the last ten mins Hildenborough had more then enough chances to win the game but failed to take them at times making it a little easy with to many offsides which were all called right untill a couple of mins from full time a ball was played out to the left for Spenceley, Yeung was coming back from an offside postion held his hands up and walked away from the area the play carried on and the ref wavied play on Spenceley drove into the box beat a man shot but the keeper pulled off a good save but Spenceley followed up and netted. The ref after going to talk to the linesman then called offside, this was the wrong call Spenceley was not offside although the result does not matter in pre-season it still doesn't feel right that call was made.
Hildenborough were happy with the game more so in the second half the way the team played football and how strong we are with the young players coming the ranks also one of the injured players on the way back Ben Rainbow played a good 25 mins which is a great sign for the team.
Our thanks go to Eltham Palace for the game and we wish them the best of luck for the
season.
