Hildenborough welcomed Sevenaoks and district premier league side Eynsford on Saturday in the Sevenoaks Charity Cup.
With Borough flying high spirits were good. Being a cup game it enabled the Hildenborough management team to rest 4 or five first team starters and the chance to have a look at the promising talent coming through from the second team.
In a game that Borough dominated start to finish. Finding it a different game than they are used to with Eynsford putting men behind the ball and going long for most of the game it was always going to be hard for Borough not to match the same style of play, and at times they played some great football, other times it was all a bit lack lustred from the home side.
Borough went one up after 10 minutes when a good cross from the right found Dave Cherry free in the box, he finished with a calm side footed shot passed the Eynsford keeper. This was only the start for the Eynsford keeper that in a busy afternoon found him making and bundle of first class saves keeping the score respectable.
Second goal come after 20 minutes when this time work on the Left found smith in the box and this time the keeper couldn’t get near the neat finish from the inform Striker.
Boroughs then come out in the second half and the frustration continued with the Eynsford keeper making more first class saves. The third goal comes when a great save was made but could only parry the ball into lee coopers path who smashed the ball in hard from 5 yards out to show the frustration that the Borough front men were having.
It was finished with a great free kick from smith curling the ball around the wall and into the top corner.
Final kick of the game saw Aaron shade whip a curling shot from the wide right but only to be kept out from the cross bar.
In a game Borough dominated they got the result and face Nomads next week in the next round.
